Thanks everyone - yes the best country is evil, and shares a lot with the redemption songs of dub and metal, thanks to Lobsterdust for pointing that last bit out, I never made the connection between metal and dub, although I'd made the dub > country connection a long while ago...and of course hiphop is connected via both, now (Wyclef, Dirty South) and Metal (we'll forget the JayZ but Anthrax and PE, and Vicious Rumor Club et al).

Just to prove some thought goes into these LOL.

Not liking the Rafferty? Heresy!!! Rafferty and a lot of the 70's AOR are undervalued IMO like ELO. The production values are quite interesting (weird offbeat hihats and extreme echo in that song, it does remind me of a white attempt at dub via cheesy AOR), and the song subjects usually quite dark and belie their saccharine production - thinking 'New Frontier' here; or 'Angie Baby'.

And that image as I said on the blog is not mine, wish it was. No idea who originally did it, the sites I found it on were foreign language or didn't give credit.
