how do you record them in Acid, is it possible to have the track playing then recording over the top while it's playing? I want to be able to record my mate rapping on a track, is Acid the program to use
I think iv'e tried recording in Acid before but there was no sound coming out, was this because of the sound options on my laptop?
also does anyone know of any other software to record vocals in, some freeware maybe. I want some "FiveFive" "Sunday Shizzle" shout outs doing
oh by the way im using acid 5.0 studio, but I also have Acid 5.0 pro on my laptop which I should probabbly start using but just never got on with it like I do studio

i'm using ps2 singstar microphones, and recording via acid pro 6, u press the red arm record button next to the start stop buttons and then the program will record, but no vocals can be heard thru monitors.
you can have another track playing, i tried this the other day, spitting some garage rhymes whilst the beat was playing in acid.....
stuff like soundforge would prob be better (obviously not freeware) but acid does the job..... just make sure you have a good quality mic!!!
the ones that you use for the decks, should be cool but the singstar ones i have are obviously cheap and so the final product ain't the best, but will do for a mix, not for a final released track though!
I think its 6 ive got on my comp actually, what you mean no vocals can be heard through monitors, Im sure thats what happened last time liek it looked like it was recording but nothing was coming out.
im not looking for a high quality recording, just learning it ect, and for mix tapes

yeah you will see spikes come up on the armed track, but no audio as you are recording, i gather this is to stop and echo effect from the mic hearing wot the monitors are playing!??!
yeah perfectly, coz of my singstar mic, it only detects one channel, blue mic on left... red mic on right
how fucking embarrasing....
obviously distance from nic needs to be assesed as too close, like some people mc will just give overly loud vocals and i can't seem to find a way to change volume with out going through microphone settings
Having a proper mic is essential.I forked out dough for 2 moderately-priced mics (still not cheap) & they ain't cutting it.Still good for fun.
You can play any track on your itunes or whatever,listening on headphones,while you rap live into acid.Go for a level of about 7 & that will keep distortion down.
After you've saved the pella you made,it's eay to put it to any the backing.

Yo Thanks all, well I went to my mates last night, but we never had a mic, we need a connector hopefully on saturday, I havn't really got one particular track where I want vocals on, it's just for everything really, I want some FiveFive jingles doing.
