When you render your MP3 files, what quality do you set it to?

I found that if I ever used anything lower than 192 Kbs on a CD Player it would sound absolutely crappy. I now don't render in anything lower than 256 Kbs and it sounds a hell of alot better and you can tell the difference instantly (also if you get a track played out in a club / on the radio it will sound even better!!).

When you save go:

1)File
2)Render As
3)Custom
4)Change the Bit rate to 256 Kbs, 44,100 Hz
5)Change the Bar below the Bit rate drop down to "quality" rather than "Fastest encode"
6)In the "Stereo encoding" selection box select "Joint Stereo" and then tick the "Mid/side stereo" & "Intensity stereo"

That will give you a great sound. It takes up a bit more space, but it is well worth it.

I run the tracks thru audacity to warm up the depth & sound.Remastering is it's specialty.of course,I'm on a mac.
Another old-fashioned solution is to run them thru an analog step to give it a more natural warmth. Some dolby does them little harm,I've found.
My denon tape player lets me access a large number of equalizer settings.
