Hi there people i have only just had acid pro 6 for a few days now and im looking to do mash ups of songs, i was just wondered if anyone can give me a like a step by step guide pretty much a dummies guide if possible so i can get started. Many Thanks for your time and help.
I used that tutorial as well for my first steps.
Also, later I noticed that you shouldn't trust the program always. The beatmapper function is great, but don't trust that it will be perfect. Make loops when you need it or add or cut a bit of time when it doesn't fit (in the vocals usually). At the end it's your ears that decide. Good luck.

The simple answer is no, the link to Grafytes tutorial site above is as close as you are going to get. There isn't a step by step guide to making a mashup, it's about being creative.
Your going to need to learn some basic musical principles if you don't already know them. I know when I started I didn't know anything about music at all! You need to understand about timing, and the harder to learn or understand dreaded key matching! As for resources you'll need to join [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], instrumentals are harder to find, karaoke versions are useful but considered cheating by the purists!
I can't help with Acid because I don't use it but I basically just spent hours and hours, and months, playing around until I started to understand what I was doing. Your best bet as a starting point will be to get a rap acapella and an instrumental with a strong beat, and try to beat match them, and go from there really...
hope that's a little bit of help...

i agree with VDJ about the beatmapping not always being accurate,i started out with acid 4 and the beatmapping was a lot more accurate but i find with 6 i'm having to go into track properties and keep changing the beatmap to get it right,i have been thinking about changing programmes but it's the learning process all other again
