Hello there peoples, ok here's the thing...
This thread, I'm hoping, will become very useful for everyone looking to broaden their horizons as far as source material is concerned.
I have heard numerous brilliant mashups which contain content from 5.1 surround sound extractions off of media such as DVDs / DVD-Audios / DTS CDs (etc), I have read and followed some fantastic tutorials about how to actually extract the individual channels on the particular 5.1 format, but have never seen any discussion about what exact products have been used and have succeeded.
So, no matter who the artist, I'm asking anyone who knows of any exact 5.1 surround sound music products in which content can be extracted easily to post the info here, so that everyone else can know for reference!
Now you might say, "just try renting/buying the DVD/DVD-A/DTS CD and try for yourself", but, well basically I'd personally be willing to pay for a product which I know I can definately get some content from, and so therefore I'd like to know in advance that it will definately be worth it!
Here's an example (and to show what I already can tell you) of what would be awesome for you to lay out in the post

:
Peter Gabriel: PLAY (DVD): Can get many clean acapellas out of this one and 5 or 6 nice instrumentals too. Many of these acapellas can already be found on acapellas4u.co.uk
Super Furry Animals: Rings Around The World (DVD) Most tracks do not provide clean extractions however I got 3 great acapellas -
It's Not The End Of The World (although the verses have heavy snare drum still on them),
Juxtaposed With U and
Fragile Hapiness. I also got some good instrumentals from
Shoot Doris Day and
Run Christian Run.
Elton John: Greatest Hits Live (DVD): Really not too great, the vocals are indeed very loud in the centre channel but there is still some backing drums for most tracks. However some pretty sweet live instrumentals can be extracted from tracks such as Crocodile Rock and Bennie and the Jets, but note: it is ALL live.
Pink Floyd: The Wall (Film DVD): Suprisingly, some very useable content can be extracted from the various sequences of each track from 'The Wall'. Definately worth having a play with although some songs have been shortened for the film.
T Rex: Electric Warrior (DTS CD): Well I received intelligence that this is where some quality T Rex pellas can be extracted however I can't seem to find this anywhere in shops or to rent because there is noooo way I'm paying around £30 for it online.
The Beatles: LOVE (DVD - A): I heard that some really excellent and clean content can be extracted from this, and this is about the only DVD-A I could find in shops too!
Metallica: S&M (DVD): Yet to try this, but apparently some very cool stuff can be extracted easily.
^^
What I'm really looking for personally is stuff like Bowie, Elton John, The Eagles, David Gray, Muse - just a few there lol
Anyway thanks for reading and thanks in advance to anyone who contributes - Share the Wealth of Knowledge guys!
Peace.
