I'm planning a Joe Strummer remix/mashup comp for the 5th anniversary of his death - would you be interested in doing something for it?

Planning something about Joe rather than Clash related, obv. those tracks aren't out of bounds but not planning to do a London Booted mk 2 (but hopefully as good as that).

To give you an idea of source material, you could use:

• The Mescaleros albums
• Joe's solo albums / soundtracks
• 101ers - Elgin Avenue revisted
• The World Service Radio Shows - great spoken word there
• Clash albums, such as Sandanista, Cut the Crap, the debut LP, etc, not avoiding London Calling but please listen to London Booted first (I can send you a copy) as I'd not want people to retread that mashup album. And anyway there is far more to Joe and The Clash than London Calling anyway!
• The many live bootlegs

Let me know if you need anything, aiming to get this up by late Dec.

Interested? I'm looking for quality and something that would celebrate Joe's life really well...that means I will send stuff back if I think it's not quite there.

Yes althought the proviso still stands - if it beats all the other Casbah boots it's in; although something better than Casbah Wonder or Snapped the Casbah is unlikely!

This gives time to sort out tracklistings, promotional stuff, podcasts and polish the tracks.

the clash is my all time favorite band and joe strummer is one my inspirations to make music!

I have not been able to come up anything, although granted I have been busy w/other projects. Too late now I guess?

Tried to do something w/"ClashCity Rockers" that didn't work. Probably intimated by the prospect of ruining one of my boyhood idols. but mos' def. looking forward to this one.

If you need extra time - take it. I'd love to hear a Clash/Strummer boot from you! When could you get something done by?

Thanks tim but I don't think it's gonna happen. Actually, I've had half-baked ideas for several Clash tunes going back years and haven't successfully finished any of 'em. Why break my streak!?
